Mara Seaweed Launches in USA – with a Brand New Product
We're excited to announce that Mara Seaweed has arrived on the shores of the USA! On June 20th we brought a taste of Scotland’s pure, wild coastline straight to the plate of the American consumer.
Our seaweed made a splash into 300,000 homes as part of Blue Apron’s meal boxes, and will soon be available to America’s discerning restaurants through Chefs’ Warehouse.

Not content with launching in a new continent, we kicked off our adventure Stateside by introducing a brand new product in a brand new format: Furikake single-serve sachets.
An East-West flavour fusion of Dulse seaweed, toasted sesame seeds and chili flakes, Furikake means ‘shake or sprinkle’ in Japanese. Blue Apron customers have been receiving Mara Furikake in their recipe boxes since the end of June.
Chefs’ Warehouse will be stocking Mara Furikake, as well as Smoked Dulse flakes, Kombu powder and Shony, ‘the ultimate condiment,’ Mara’s unique blend of seaweeds, all in catering-sized tubs.

Through Chefs’ Warehouse Fiona had the opportunity to meet several of New York’s top chefs and restauranteurs, including Momofuku Nishi, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Eleven Madison and Nobu. The chefs were impressed not only by Mara’s unusual flavours and health benefits, but also our many accolades.
Fiona commented, “we’re delighted to bring Mara’s range of premium seaweed products to a new audience in America. It gives us the opportunity to further drive Mara’s mission to “Nourish Body and Soul” across the Atlantic.”

I just loved the Mara Seaweed - Furikake! I had it in my Blue Apron delivery of the Ramen and also the Pork Burgers with the green beans. I looked it up immediately and ordered the products available. Can’t wait to have the Furikake available in the US soon! Thank you!!!

Like Steven Grady, I received your seaweed-sesame fusion packet with my Blue Apron dinner and found it an interesting, tasty addition to blanched green beans. I also look forward to being able to purchase it here on the US east coast!

I received a Furikake sachet with my Blue Apron dinner kit the other night. It was the seasoning for the blanched green beans, along with Sesame Oil. It was delicious, so I decided to look it up on the Mara Seaweed website. I had no idea it was a brand new product here in the U.S. So I will look forward to buying it once it is available here and I am looking forward to trying your other products. I have friends who received the same dinner kit from Blue Apron, so congratulations: you have stormed the beaches of the northern California coast at the border with Oregon.
